The pocket defibrillator is designed to be a cheap and common first aid device in a life threatening situations of heart failures like Ventricular Fibrillations. The defibrillator measures precisely the clinical heart state of the patient and if needed delivers a therapeutic dose of electrical energy to patient's, in order to allow the normal heart rhythm to be reestablished. The pocket defibrillator is unique because of his outstanding mobility and simplicity of operation while in the same time being very accurate, reliable and safe.

Defibrillator is a device that delivers a therapeutic dose of electrical energy to patient's heart at life threatening situations like ventricular fibrillation (VF), in order to terminate the arrhythmia and allow the normal heart rhythm to be reestablished. Defibrillators can be external, Trans-venous, or implanted, depending on the type of device used. Some external units, known as automated external defibrillators (AEDs), automate the diagnosis of treatable rhythms, meaning that lay responders or bystanders are able to use them successfully with little, or in some cases no, training. As for today, either most of AED's are held by trained personnel who will attend incidents, or are public access units that can be found in crowded places like shopping centers, airports and health clubs. Those devices are mostly packaged in a small suitcase and are little clumsy to be carried daily. No small sized, lightweight pocket AED was announced yet. That kind of product will increase the survival odds of patients from a risk group of cardiac arrhythmias, by enabling an immediate lifesaving treatment, which is very crucial in such cases. No personal device for this purpose was developed yet.

In general, AEDs are developed to supply the immediate response in situations of cardiac arrest caused by VF. A pocket defibrillator will be desirable among individuals with high-risk of heart failures. In addition, such a device can function as a compact AED for the medical rescue units or being held as public access unit that does not require any training or prior knowledge.

There are some critical design goals that without being reached, the final product wouldn’t satisfy its original designation.
• High power adapted Biphasic shock waveform (fitted to the patient’s physiology) with fast charging time (25sec max)
• Precise vital signs sensing: ECG, Pulse, Breathing
• Reliable and accurate VF diagnosis algorithm
• Dual function high power-delivering electrodes (sensing and pulse emitting)
• Drop height: 1 m on each corner, edge and surface; after which normal operation.
• Weight: Confidential
• Dimensions: : Confidential
• Simple operation
• Vocal instructions
• Visual indications and buttons
• Telemedicine™ – remote controlled operation process (optional)
• Automatic and manual comprehensive Built In Test (BIT) loop
